What is Bildungsurlaub?
Your legal right to paid educational leave
Bildungsurlaub ("educational leave") is a statutory right for employees in most German federal states. After about 6 months with your employer you can take 5 paid days off per year — often combinable into a 10-day block over two years — to attend an officially recognized course. Peruwayna's Spanish immersion is recognized in six states, so it qualifies.

The Recognized Course
Spanish Super Intensive Immersion
This is the exact program approved for Bildungsurlaub: an intensive, communicative course, Monday–Friday, 6 hours a day (9:00–13:00 group classes + 14:00–16:00 private tutoring, weekend free). Take it as 1 week (5 days) or 2 weeks (10 days) — starts every Monday, year-round, in person in Lima.
Group Classes:
20 hours a week
Interaction, conversation, listening, writing, grammar and vocabulary — in small groups, with highly qualified teachers.
Private Classes:
10 hours a week
Review, reinforcement, error correction, pronunciation and communicative practice tailored to your progress.
Cultural & Immersive Activities
Conversation club, art & gastronomy workshops, and visits to historic sites, museums and markets across Lima.

Where Peruwayna is recognized — and what you get
Peruwayna's "Spanish Super Intensive Immersion" is recognized in six German federal states. In all of them you get roughly 5 paid days a year — combinable into a 10-day block over two years — so you can do our 1-week course about once a year, or the 2-week course about every two years. What changes by state is mainly how early to tell your employer:

Complete our Online Form
At peruwayna.com/join-us — choose the Super Intensive Immersion Program, your preferred dates, and write “Bildungsurlaub” and “federal state” in the observations field.

Get your employer documents
We send your Registration Confirmation, Course Description and Weekly Timetable, with the recognition reference for your state.

Request your leave
Submit the request to your employer — in most states at least 6 weeks before the course, so it's best to start early.

Short placement
A Spanish interview via Zoom and an online grammar test, so we place you at the right level.

Come to Lima and learn
Study Spanish full-time and enjoy Peru. Receive your Certificate of Attendance at the end.
Important Note: Attendance & Cancellation
As this is an educational-leave program, we kindly remind students that full attendance of all 30 hours per week — including both group and private sessions — is required.
This requirement is part of the official conditions for Bildungsurlaub recognition. Therefore, your Certificate of Attendance (Teilnahmebescheinigung) can only be issued if the full program is completed.
For this reason, the Bildungsurlaub program cannot be cancelled, rescheduled, or refunded once confirmed, and the standard 24-hour flexibility for private lessons unfortunately cannot apply in this case.
We completely understand that unexpected situations can sometimes arise; however, any session that is not attended cannot be certified, and this may affect the recognition of your Bildungsurlaub with your employer.
