We are committed to protecting all our students’ personal information in order to ensure that they receive a safe and enjoyable Spanish learning experience. This privacy notice only refers to information collected by Peruwayna Spanish School.

We only have access to information that you voluntarily give us via email through our online forms or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfil your request.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit your personal information via the website, your information is protected thanks to our Trusted SSL Certificate (Secure Socket Layer), which uses SHA-2 and 2048-bit encryption to protect sensitive data. It’s the strongest encryption on the market today and it is virtually uncrackable.
 

While we protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/files in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

What student information do we collect and why do we use it?

 

  • We need to collect information from you when you book a Spanish Language Program with us.
     

  • You will be asked for your first name, last name, email address, birth date, gender, nationality, native language, and if you speak other languages.
     

  • You may also be asked for your passport or visa details if required, and specific medical and dietary information regarding your accommodation or study needs.
     

  • During school activities, photographs may be taken of students. School photos may be used on our managed social media pages and marketing materials.
     

  • All your personal information and photos will be kept securely and only used:

    • To enroll you in our school,

    • To process transactions,

    • To help with visa applications,

    • To book accommodation,

    • To officially promote Peruwayna Spanish School.

Peruwayna Spanish School requires permission to use this information or any photographs taken of you. You may request this data at any time or tell us to partially or totally remove it from our school records unless it is kept for legal reasons.

What do we use your information for?

 

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and arrange the services that you have requested (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs).

  • To improve our school (we continually strive to improve our language programs based on the information and feedback we receive from you).

  • To complete your payments / send you payment reminders.

  • Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of enrolling you on one of our Spanish programs, or personalize your experience (lessons, activities, accommodation).

  • To reply to emails.

  • To be able to act appropriately in cases of emergencies.

Your personal data – what is it?
Personal data is information which can be used to identify you.

Identification can occur because of data controlled by Peruwayna Spanish School.

The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulations, GDPR.

Peruwayna Spanish School may collect and store:
Your first name, last name, email address, birth date, gender, nationality, native language, if you speak other languages, telephone, passport and visa details (if required), medical conditions, special educational needs, allergies, and any requirements you state; test and examination results, records of payment, records of classes taken, school photos and videos.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide our Academic and Administrative team with relevant information to successfully enroll students on our language programs, arrange accommodation options, arrange airport pickups and any other services requested by our students.

  • To help our academic team and teachers place students in a class at the correct level.

  • To process payments and operate the language school (please note that we do not record or store your credit or debit card information in case you use such payment method. This is why all payments are done in person at School)

  • To maintain our student, employees, agents, and host family files.

  • To maintain our health and safety records.

  • To maintain our own financial accounts and academic records.

  • To communicate with students regarding events and news ONLY while they are at School.

  • To enroll students in Spanish language examinations.

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

 

These fall under either article 6 or article 9 – dealt with separately below:

  • With the consent of the data subject

  • Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject or to take steps to enter into a contract (see our terms and conditions)

  • Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation (financial records are kept to meet our legal tax obligations)

In order to meet our operational obligations we keep your personal data indefinitely, unless you request your data to be removed from our system.
